The Honorable Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Steel Development, Rep. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims has declared to run for a second term in office.
The program also featured a mega empowerment of over three thousand constituents with different items including cars, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, deep freezers etc. as a means to ameliorate poverty and over dependence on government for jobs.
In his declaration address, the Federal Lawmaker thanked God for the opportunity of service given to him through the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello in particular and the people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Local Government Areas who believes in his capacity to deliver.
The occasion was Chaired by the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Chief Edward David Onoja, ably represented by the Kogi State All Progressives Congress(APC) Secretary, Hon. Joshua Onoja. Also at the occasion was the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Idris Musa Oando, the Kogi State APC Women Leader, Hajiya Hauwa T. Aduku, serving and past Political office holders cum several aspirants across the Federal Constituency.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu applauded the Federal Lawmaker for his outstanding performance in all areas of the society including Health, Education, Human development, Infrastructure, Agriculture, Effective legislation and egalitarianism in the period under review adding that a good term has no better reward, save continuity which he express confidence that the party will adopt, unanimously.
On his path, the Member Representing Ankpa II State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Alfa Momoh Rabiu called on stakeholders and intending aspirants to work round Hon. Halims for a second term in office to enable him consolidate on the gains of his current tenure and prepare the ruling APC, for a robust victory as it recorded in 2019.
The State Lawmaker added that he ordinarily desires to contest for the green chamber but having being a beneficiary of intra party arrangements in 2019, it is only wise for him and others to encourage same in order for the party to not just retain power but go into the general elections with a formidable, strong and united front.
Separate speakers, including the Honorable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Gabriel Yunusa Olofu, Chairmen of Omala and Olamaboro Local Government Areas, Hon. Aboh Ibrahim and Hon. Adejoh N. Friday, respectively as well as the Local Government Chairman of APC, Hon. Abdullahi Zakari, all commended Rep. Halims for giving back to the people even as he promised to do more.
The beneficiaries, among whom includes the Onu Ankpa, HRH Alhaji Abdulmalik Umar, pressure groups, party men/women and professionals drawn from the three Local Government Areas of Ankpa Federal Constituency were full of appreciation to the Federal Lawmaker in particular and the APC in general for having such a humane leader whom they assured will have a smooth sail to second term.
