The foremost candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State ahead of the 2023 general election, Rep. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims on Thursday, picked up his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest for a second term in office.
Rep Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, who is currently the Chairman of the House Committee on Steel Development, was accompanied by his wife, Hajiya Jummai Ibrahim, a retinue of constituents, party faithfuls and well wishers who have been making clarion calls for him to seek reelection.
In a statement issued shortly after the purchase of forms, the Federal Lawmaker's Coordinator of Information, Visual and Strategic Operations, Comrade Muhammed Nasiru said the task before the People's Representative is canvassing and consulting all party faithfuls, institutional leaders, delegates, critical Stakeholders and constituents in general to support the popular call for his reelection in order for him to emerge the party's standard flag bearer in the May 22nd primary election.
Comrade Nasiru expressed confidence that Rep. Halims having done excellently well in the period under review will enjoy the party's nomination once more and will by the special grace of God, come out victoriously in the 2023 general elections.
“Halims is seeking reelection to consolidate on the current gains of his stewardship for the greater good of all and that is a continuity for progress. Moving forward in infrastructure, Agriculture and Health development, prudent legislation, human empowerment and to uphold the place of pride already born for Ankpa Federal Constituency among the Committee of Constituencies in the National Assembly.”
On his part, Hon. Okeme Emmanuel who is the Senior Legislative Aide to Rep. Halims said today is the beginning of a new era and the humility of Rep. Halims in answering the call of his constituents for a second term in office is the pathway to a greater Constituency.
This is a historic moment for all, a great milestone in the history of our land and as a matter of fact, the only candidate to beat has picked his form. He further made a vote of thanks on behalf of His Principal and concluded by saying — Our belief is; this is the beginning of yet another greater era.
